I totally agree. In graduate school I remember learning that when adults are involved it is no longer play. Little League games, PE classes, etc. are not play--they are work. True play is letting kids lead. My school has three breaks each day and we were just named a Blue Ribbon School for academics. You don't have to slash recess/PE time to accomplish proficiency.
